Re: camper bike
Fri, August 21, 2009 - 6:30 AMThat's funny. I could see trying to take it out in the Midwest with one good wind storm.

Re: camper bike
Fri, August 21, 2009 - 10:35 AMEver heard of a comic strip called Joe Poluka? He was a boxer and had a friend who rode and lived in a contraption similar to this. The comic strip was based on real people. I lived in Houston, Texas where they "lived" and saw the bike house several times. Of course, this was back in the 50's and early 60's.

Fri, August 21, 2009 - 2:48 PMI hadn't heard of that comic strip, nope. Be interesting to see the bike house the strip version was based on.
There's a guy who passed through Portland who actually lived in (and was rebuilding) a much lower-profile (not such a windcatcher) bike camper, handmade....

Mon, September 7, 2009 - 9:36 PMOh, that's really great! I suppose the flatlands are where it would be most useful, though. I can't see pedaling uphill with that.
